Sustainable transformation of companies at this year's IRT Industrial Forum
08 May 2024
This year's IRT Industrial Forum will highlight the key topic of sustainable transformation of companies. Given the growing importance of sustainable development, discussions at the forum will also cover the approach to carbon footprint reduction, the circular economy, corporate social responsibility and other key aspects of the sustainable economy.
Sustainability in the manufacturing environment refers to practices that enable the production of goods or services in a way that minimizes negative impacts on the environment, protects natural resources and supports long-term sustainability. This can include using renewable energy sources, recycling waste, reducing water consumption, optimizing processes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and ensuring safe and healthy working conditions for employees.
In addition to environmental sustainability, it is also important that production ensures social sustainability, which means respect for workers' rights, including fair wages, safe working conditions and equal opportunities. Sustainability in the production environment therefore encompasses both environmental and social aspects and is key to the long-term success of companies and the well-being of communities and the environment.
